David Onilude, 19, is a Nigerian Changemaker, Front End Developer and Designer, Internationally recognised Social Entrepreneur, Ambassador for the Word Literacy Foundation and Theirword, 2020 SME100 25under25, FOYA 2021 Nominee, and Founder, Tech Now Global.
Born in Lagos, Nigeria, David Onilude is the Founder and Executive Director of Tech Now Global — a Gen Z-led nonprofit organization that addresses marginalization in rural communities by empowering young persons in rural communities with basic digital/21st century skills.
Tech Now Global has directly impacted over 5,000 teenagers in communities that have been tagged “Unreached Community” by impacting them with 21st century digital skills to aid quality education and employability.
David is LEARNBLUE’s lead web designer and is responsible for all LEARNBLUE web assets. He is also Tech Lead at Teens World Empowerment (TWE), Smart Teens Global, Teenovation, and other nonprofits that share similar goals to his. He is a serial volunteer who is passionate about the Global Goal 5. Alongside his work, he is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology.
Over the past three years, David has interned at several social enterprises, including Equip Africa Initiative and Dooke Innovation Centre, where young people are provided with relevant skills and experience to the ever-growing demands of the 21st century, and has since worked to create similar opportunities for marginalized communities.
He also co-founded CyberSquad which is a non-profit organization and a digital community that gives digital and basic skills to teenagers in order to complement their education and skills needed to maximize the digital space.
Having a penchant for technology, David is fascinated by video games and spends his time learning how they work by binging YouTube videos or watching TV shows, the hallmark of a Gen Z changemaker.
